As a reminder, our individual school web pages will continue to link back to School Fusion (hosted at this site) until the start of the new school year when all school-related pages will make the transition to our new web platform.
Thank you for your continued interest in and support of Aiken County Public Schools, and welcome to acpsd.net!
As we enter the third quarter, I will be having Guidance lessons in the kindergarten, first and second grades. I am looking forward to returning to these classes. I imagine that the students have learned a great deal since our last classroom lesson back in October.
We will be learning about diversity in kindergarten. We are all different and unique and it is important to celebrate our differences. We will also be learning about personal safety and the importance of making good choices. Of course we will be singing our “Feelings Song” again……I hope the students remember the words to the song!
First grade students will be learning more about feelings and ways to handle them. All feelings are OK; we just have to remember to handle them appropriately. Friendship and personal safety are also topics we will focus on this quarter.
In the second grade, we will begin the “Kids with Character” program. We will be hearing stories about kids who learn about making good choices. The students will learn that sometimes the right thing to do is not always easy! We will also have lessons on personal safety this quarter.
I am also available to parents if you have any concerns about your child and his/her success at school. Feel free to call me at the school at 442-6280. I am more available in the afternoon after our morning guidance lessons.
